Daniel J. Mastella, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and hand surgeon at The Hand Center in Hartford, Glastonbury, Tolland, and Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Dr. Mastella completed his undergraduate training at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, before earning his MD at the University of Connecticut. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut. He then went on to a subspecialty fellowship hand surgery at the Philadelphia Hand Center in Pennsylvania. Working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Dr. Mastella is Assistant Director of the University of Connecticut Hand Surgery Fellowship Program, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic surgery at the University of Connecticut and Director of the Hand Surgery Service at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Mastella shares his knowledge through research presentations and in articles published in industry journals and textbooks. Dr. Mastella is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with the Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand, a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the, and Vice President of the New England Hand Society. He is a founding member of the New England Shoulder and Elbow Society and the Hartford Hand Club.
